High Speed, uninterrupted connectivity at the sea
Sea Cloud’s sea vessels require an uninterrupted high-speed internet connection while traveling at sea to provide access to both the crew and their guests. SD-WAN Pro bonds a mix of LTE/5G connections and one ka-SAT as a backup to fill the connectivity gaps where the LTE/5G network is unavailable.
LTE/5G bonding to achieve high throughput
By bonding a mix of LTE and 5G connections, the ships are enjoying a high speed bonded Internet connection, especially while travelling near the shore, where LTE and 5G signal reception is good.
Static IP address for remote access
The SD-WAN Pro offers by default at least one static public IPv4, allowing remote connections to the in-house hosted services, remote access to the ship’s CCTV, and remote troubleshooting on the ship’s IT infrastructure
Universal solution on multiple Sea Vessels
The same setup is applied to three sea vessels. The connectivity performance and availability are monitored in real-time through our cloud network monitoring system. The same setup can be applied to any sea vessel regardless of location and ISP networks
DNS Filtering
Sea Cloud Cruise ships need a way to filter guest access to specific sites and applications to comply with local legal requirements. SD-WAN Pro has been configured to redirect all DNS requests to a DNS filter, restricting access to torrents.
Uninterrupted access via Least cost routing
Since Ka-SAT comes with high data costs, it is configured as a failover connection to be used only when no other link is available. This setup offers the lowest possible operational cost, as all traffic is routed via the connections with the lowest costs first
